Let’s Do the Time Warp
Time Warp is a song featured in the Rocky Horror Show. The Time Warp Dance is performed during the chorus of the Time Warp Song. The song is both an example and a parody of the dance song genre, with much of the lyrics consisting of dance step instructions. The dance is one of the major audience-participation activities during screenings of the RHPS movie! Take the time to learn the dance so you can join in the fun with us at our signature fundraising event that is sure to become a Saratoga Halloween staple!
How to do the Time Warp
1. (It’s just a) JUMP TO THE LEFT, with hands UP.
2. A STEP TO THE RIGHT (Time-Warper ANNETTE FUNICELLO suggests a very WIDE step.)
3.* (With your hands on your HIPS) YOU BRING YOUR KNEES IN TIGHT.
4. (Then) THE PELVIC THRUST (if repeated FIVE times, it nearly drives you insa-a-ane)
5. HIPSWIVEL (if not driven insa-a-ane by step four)
6. LET’S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!
