Thank you, Church of Jesus Christ Albany, for hosting the event. The donations received will benefit people living with substance use, mental health, and other life challenges like homelessness that RISE serves.
BYU-Idaho Dance Alliance “Look Up” tour performed in various locations in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey from July 21–August 1, 2023. At several of the performances, the admission was free and a local non-profit was chosen to benefits from audience donations. At the Albany performance, donations benefited RISE. Prior to the performance, Lindsey Connors, RISE Associate Executive Director, shared about the services that RISE provides to our community.
From inventive contemporary to classic elegance, the BYU-Idaho Dance Alliance lights up the stage with extensive costuming and dynamic movement. Dance Alliance is a unique company comprised of 35 students from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Dance Alliance distinguishes itself through its varied repertoire of genres including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom, world dance, and more.
A primary goal of the troupe is to uplift and inspire audiences through the language of dance, a language that communicates and can be understood by all. The company strives to keep their music, costumes, and choreography in harmony with the 13th Article of Faith which states, “Anything that is virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”
