Mental Wellness Month: Celebrating Resilience, Recovery, and Community

Mental Wellness Month is a time to recognize the strength it takes to heal, the importance of support, and the powerful role community plays in recovery. At RISE Housing and Support Services, this month reminds us why our mission matters—and how truly life-changing it can be.

In this video, Robert, a former RISE resident, shares his story of resilience and recovery. His experience is a powerful reminder that mental illness can touch anyone’s life, and that with the right housing, support, and encouragement, healing is possible.

Robert’s Story

Robert’s journey reflects the challenges many individuals face when navigating mental health concerns without stable housing or adequate support. Through the housing and supportive services he received at RISE, Robert was able to rebuild his life, focus on his recovery, and move forward with renewed stability and purpose.

Today, Robert is thriving as a valued member of our community. His story highlights the impact of compassionate, person-centered support—and the importance of ensuring people have access to safe housing and mental health resources when they need them most.

Supporting Mental Wellness Every Day

At RISE, our work goes beyond housing. Every day, we support individuals in achieving the mental wellness they need to live safely, independently, and with dignity. Through supportive and affordable housing, advocacy, crisis intervention, and recovery services, we walk alongside people as they build stability and hope.

Looking Ahead: Homebase Therapeutic Community Center

As we look to the future, we are excited to invite our community to be part of our Mental Wellness Journey in 2026. RISE is preparing to open the Homebase Therapeutic Community Center, a low-barrier, therapeutic day program designed to combat isolation and foster connection.

Homebase will offer semi-structured opportunities for individuals to build skills, form meaningful relationships, and develop natural support systems. Most importantly, it will be a safe, welcoming space where people are accepted as they are and supported as they grow.

How You Can Help

Mental wellness is made possible through community support. We invite you to consider making a gift in support of RISE Housing and Support Services. Your generosity helps ensure that individuals like Robert have access to the housing, services, and care they need to recover and thrive.

Together, we can continue building a community rooted in health, wellness, dignity, and hope.

As the New Year approaches, we wish you continued health, wellness, and hope—and thank you for being part of our mission.
