RISE Housing and Support Services has an opportunity for supportive community members to volunteer their time at our new low barrier shelter.
RISE offers a Shelter Volunteer:
- A supportive team of experienced staff
- An opportunity to give back by supporting a program meeting a community need
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and supportive environment
- Helping with shelter meals and chores
- Conducting fun and engaging group activities
- Modeling positive and appropriate behaviors
- Supporting a response to escalated situations
To qualify you must have:
- A willingness to learn
- Empathy and compassion
- Strong interpersonal boundaries
- Experience working with vulnerable members of the community a plus
