RISE Housing and Support Services has an opportunity for a confident individual with experience working with sensitive populations to join our team and support the operations of our low barrier shelter. A successful candidate will be able assist in the maintenance of a safe and supportive environment during the day hours of the shelter program.
RISE offers an Shelter Support Staff:
- A rate of $19.50 per hour
- $1,500 bonus after 6 months of employment
- A generous time off package: In your 1st year, earn up to 4 weeks of combined vacation and holiday time, 3 weeks of combined sick and personal time, and a day off for your birthday

Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Responding to escalated situations and involving community supports as needed
- Supporting shelter volunteers
- Modeling positive and appropriate behaviors
To qualify you must have:
- A high school diploma and at least one year of experience providing support to individuals experiencing homelessness and/or mental health or substance use diagnoses
- Weekend and Overnight availability
- Other combinations of experience and education will be considered
- An ability to operate independently, think on your feet, and follow your training
- A willingness to meet people where they are at in the community
- Strong interpersonal boundaries
- Our shared belief system in areas such as dedication, compassion, respect, empathy, and inclusion
- Successful completion of RISE background checks, a valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to the RISE automobile policy.
