RISE Housing and Support Services has an opportunity to earn extra money while gaining experience as a per diem counselor for our shelter program. The perfect candidate will have an interest in the human services field and the empathy and positivity to be a supportive presence for our residents while they work to overcome the life challenges that have lead to homelessness.
RISE offers a starting Per Diem Shelter Support Staff:
- A rate of $17 per hour
- A $250 bonus after 6 months of employment
- An ability to have a regular schedule or accept shifts as available
- An opportunity to gain experience in a human services field in a growing organization that likes to promote from within
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Responding to escalated situations and involving community supports as needed
- Modeling positive and appropriate behaviors
To qualify you must have:
- An interest in human services and the dedication to learn
- Weekend and Overnight availability
- An ability to operate independently, think on your feet, and follow your training
- A willingness to meet people where they are at in the community
- Strong interpersonal boundaries
- Our shared belief system in areas such as dedication, compassion, respect, empathy, and inclusion
Schedule Options:
- We have a variety of shifts available including day, evening, weekend, and overnight hours
