Mental Health Court Navigator

RISE Housing and Support Services has an opportunity for a confident, dedicated, and compassionate person to help individuals with a mental health diagnosis who are in the criminal justice system.  In this role, you will help participants navigate local systems and connect to appropriate community resources. A successful candidate will enjoy working closely with local court systems and supporting individuals as they work to overcome the life challenges their mental health diagnosis has presented.

RISE offers a Mental Health Court Navigator:

  • A starting rate of $21.64-24.00 per hour
  • A $1,500 bonus after 6 months of employment

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify behavioral health and social service needs of individuals in the criminal justice system
  • Connect individuals to local community resources based on their unique needs
  • Collaborate with courts and other criminal justice partners to ensure timely support for individuals in need
  • Accompany/transport clients to appointments and facilitate attendance to court appearances
  • Maintain positive relationships with community partners and manage referral networks
  • Document activities and goal progress in all applicable systems

To qualify you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience providing direct support
    • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal boundaries

  • Clearance with all relevant background checks as per RISE policies and governing regulations
  • A valid NY State Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the RISE automotive program
  • Access to reliable transportation
