At RISE, we are proud to celebrate the journeys of individuals whose lives have been transformed through SunRISE Retreat Intensive Crisis Residence. Loren’s story is a powerful example of the hope, support, and stability this program provides, and we are honored to share his experience with our community.

“After 8 months of enduring hardship, I landed at Sunrise Retreat. I was welcomed with open arms & was finally able to relax knowing that I’d be able to get my own place in just a couple of months. Upon my arrival, I was introduced to the lovely staff. I could tell instantly that everyone working there truly cared about the individuals in their care. During my stay at Sunrise Retreat I experienced many things reminiscent of home; whether it was the home-cooked meals every night, being able to come and go freely, and I was also able to play and interact with the staff’s dogs at the Retreat.
Sunrise Retreat is a 28-day program, so when my 28 days were up, I was placed in a group home. The state quickly realized that this was not the right setting for me and asked if I’d like to come back to Sunrise Retreat for a second stay of 28 days, to which I replied immediately, “Yes!” They further explained that after my stay I would be moved into my first apartment right from the Sunrise Retreat.
Fast forward one year since leaving Sunrise Retreat and I’ve been living my best life at my apartment. I’m surrounded by great people and wonderful staff that truly care about me & every individual there. Thank you, Jenna, Jackie, Jeff, Sara, Nicole and Val, for all that you do.”

Loren’s journey is a testament to the impact of compassion, support, and a safe place to begin again. At RISE, we remain committed to providing programs like SunRISE Retreat that help individuals find stability, independence, and hope for the future.
