Their professionalism, patience, and willingness to support without hesitation have made a lasting impression. Rise to the Occasion: Amy Potter and Jacqueline Bunge
The Rise to the Occasion Recognition is given to individuals who see a need within the agency and go above and beyond to fill that need.
Please join us in congratulating Amy Potter and Jackie Bunge as the July RISE to the Occasion recognition recipients. Amy and Jackie were nominated by Sybil Newell, RISE Executive Director, and Lindsey Connors, RISE Associate Executive Director, for their outstanding work on RISE’s recent art auction.
Amy took the lead in coordinating the countless details that made the event possible, collaborating seamlessly with everyone involved. Jackie lent her deep knowledge and expertise to help keep us on track and focused on what mattered most. We’re incredibly grateful for Jackie’s guidance and Amy’s unwavering commitment to creating a meaningful, engaging, and successful event—despite having no roadmap to follow.
Thanks to their hard work, RISE was beautifully represented in the community. We’re lucky to have them both on our team!

Rise to the Extra Mile: Syre Zenon
The Rise to the Extra Mile Recognition is given to highly motivated individuals who go that extra mile in their job.
We are proud to recognize Syre Zenon for July RISE to the Extra Mile recognition. Syre plays an essential role at our Adelphi Street Shelter, showing up every day with dedication and heart. Operating solo in a role that’s typically shared, Syre has gone above and beyond to ensure every resident receives the care and support they need. Syre’s commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed—Syre is deeply appreciated by both the clients and fellow staff.
Syre’s presence brings consistency, compassion, and strength to the shelter, and we are truly grateful!
